A telemark technikából fejlődött ki a sísport összes technikája, tehát bátran állíthatom, hogy a síelés őse. Egy olyan eszköz, melyet még ma is használnak, ha nem is olyan funkciókkal, mint régen, de napjainkban is megjelenik a sípályákon. Sokan csak ámuldozva látják a térdelő síelőket és nem értik hogyan lehetséges ez.

A ski tunnel is a sort of ski course where cross-country skiers are welcome in all seasons. The temperature inside the tunnel is constant - usually a few degrees below zero, humidity is permanent, and to prevent the enrichment of carbon-dioxide air ventilation is provided. The first ski tunnel was built in Vuokatti, Finland, and there are some of them working now in Europe, three in Finland (Vuokatti, Paippi, Jämi), one in Sweden (Torsby) and there's been one in Obersdorf, Germany since the August of 2009.

Skis have two really important features: flexibility (the bridge of a ski or the weight bow or perhaps flex) and the winding stiffness (torsion). Hard torsion means that a ski stood on its edge winds with difficulty, and its point will be in the same angle as the middle part under the boots. If we edge with soft torsion skis, the points won't hold the angle that we have set with the boots in the middle, they twist. If we talk about what you feel, it means that hard torsion skis stood on their edges react almost immediately, they're very sensitive, they „outburst in passion". Soft ones are much more tolerant, the result of standing them on edge appears slower. A good skier will call the soft torsion skis stupid, the beginner the hard ones „nervous" and will feel them unpredictable. At the same time soft torsion skis can be turned more easily.
