The head instructors of the Federation of Hungarian Ski-Instructors have taken their part in creating the book Skiing 3+. It is these professionals who do the training, the in-service training of ski instructors and the forming of the national curriculum of skiing. Their expertise is acknowledged by various international ski instructors' organisations. They also participate in the professional work and management of such international organisations. One of the editors of the book also takes part in training experts in Austria. Besides they have proved through teaching at all kinds of levels that the knowledge appearing in the book is valid in practice.

„When writing the book we wanted to make a volume that can be enjoyed and used by the fans, maniacs as well as professionals - say the authors. Therefore all topics are presented with obvious and spectacular photos. Apart from the pictures you can find tips and advice for successful learning in yellow frames and exercises about the different moves in blue frames. If you're more interested, you can find the descriptions of these exercises in thin frames whereas the core text provides knowledge for pros and advanced skiers."

Together with alpine skiing you can also find the basics of the more and more popular cross-country skiing, snowboarding and telemark skiing, what's more you can read about the equipment, the „highway code" of skiing (FIS 10), and important information about snow, avalanches and environment protection.

The high quality of the book is also marked by the fact that colleagues from alpine countries regarded it as one of the most beautiful and best ski books, and they have encouraged the editing team to publish the volume in their countries too where it will surely be well received. CARVING FOR EVERYONE: DVD

„A book despite the best intentions and the most wonderful realisation can only contain still pictures. Thus we have found it important to present the material of alpine skiing in motion pictures as well. The photos of the book come to life in the film and they can show the various technical elements in motion. Scenic slow motion pictures, close-ups, explanatory illustrations and texts can help to understand the secrets of skiing. At the same time the film cannot give detailed explanations so the book and the film together will be really useful."

Using the facilities of a DVD you can find the very element you're interested in with the menu, but you can also see the film as a whole. While watching it's worth making use of the replay, slow motion and stopping functions too.

„We didn't want the film to be too 'dry' so apart from the technical elements (to be more exact at the beginning of the film, plus at the end of the basic and advanced chapters) we have placed a few spectacular clips. These clips made it possible for the members of the Hungarian ski instructors' team and head instructors to appear."

It's a novelty in the 2010 edition that explanations can be read not only in Hungarian, but in English, German, Czech, Polish, Romanian and Russian as well.
